Why Dickinson, North Dakota?

Theodore Roosevelt himself said, “I never would have been President if it had not been for my experiences in North Dakota.” Recognizing this, Dickinson State University a decade ago created and nurtured the Theodore Roosevelt Center, which is digitizing all of Roosevelt’s papers. This work has gained international acclaim and has inspired the creation of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. As the eastern gateway to Roosevelt’s beloved Little Missouri River badlands, the city of Dickinson offers accommodations and amenities to serve a wide range of guests.
